Classes
Classes available and schedules are subject to change. Classes offered are subject to different variances, including but not limited to: schedule, enrollment interest, and directors discretion.
Tap
Teaches an awareness of beat, timing, and rhythm. Combining the technique of tap dancing with nostalgic to modern styles.
Jazz
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Ballet
Ballet is a great class for all levels of dancers. Develops the fundamentals and technique of all dances, through control, poise, precision, fluency, and grace.
Lyrical
Learn music interpretation through sustained extensions and expressive emotion. Lyrical is a type of dance that relies on a direct relationship between the lyrics of various songs/poems and specific dance movements.
Hip Hop
This high energy class is enjoyed by both girls and boys who want to learn the latest urban dance steps that are influenced by some of today’s hottest video choreographers presented in an age appropriate manner. Elements include proper conditioning and warm up, individualized dance steps, and full bodied combinations.
Tumbling
Tumbling is a form of gymnastics without using certain types of equipment. This is a great class for individuals who would like to learn simple acrobatics such as cartwheels, walkovers, handstands, and much more. In tumbling classes dancers will learn a routine using these skills
Pointe
The history of Pointe technique proves that this class is designed for students who thrive to achieve a higher level of dancing. You must be enrolled in two ballet classes a week and have teacher recommendation and approval to join this class.
Creative Movement
This is a fun class for the tiniest of dancers, ages 18 months to 3 years. It is designed to explore music and movement and music while interacting with other students. This is a 30 minute class which does perform in the recital and incorporates dance skills, games, and fun.
Contemporary
Contemporary combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This is an expressive style of dance, often adding an edge, connecting to the mind and body.
Musical Theatre
This class is a great class for students who plan on joining Drama and Theatre clubs. Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. This is a fun class for students who love both singing and dancing.
Technique/ Stretch
This is a non-recital class that is designed to enhance technique abilities. This class teaches a series of leaps, jumps, turns, and flexibility. Dancers enrolled in other classes at CSDA are eligible to receive this class at a reduced tuition rate.
